What is Hazing?
Hazing is a form of initiation in which a person or group of people coerce a victim to perform a task that is dangerous and has the potential to cause mental or physical harm. Most commonly associated with colleges and universities, hazing can also occur in military units, gangs, and clubs. Hazing was once considered socially acceptable and even a rite of passage. However, today institutions are increasingly cracking down on hazing behavior, leading to an increase in criminal hazing allegations.
